Revered as one of the sacred mountains of the world, Mt. Shasta at a height of 14,152 feet towers over the city of Mount Shasta, and can be seen from distances of over 100 miles.

1) Mt. Shasta as seen from Heart Lake, a wonderful hike just outside the city.

2) A snow capped Mt. Shasta plays host to one of the magical lenticular clouds that often forms above its peak.

3) Panther Meadows, an alpine stream-fed meadow that is sacred to the local Native American tribes, approx. 7,800 feet up the mountain and accessible by car.
